On Christmas Eve, the Chief editor of EUROFEST.BY Pavel Marozau met with Alexander Ivanov, to discuss his plans for the preparation for the final of national selection in Belarus to "Eurovision 2016".
EUROFEST.BY: Alexander, as you know, in the current national selection fan support is very important, because It will have a 100% televoting in the final. How do you feel now in relation to the networks of your contest song?
AIex: About the contest entry: felt support, people write to me, I read the page and view social networks, voting, comments. Of course, there are critics. Although this is more distrust, this is also a reason. Someone criticizes reasonably explain - what specifically they do not like and why. In another kind of comments I try not to pay attention to stay on the positive. At the same time another group of people wrote to me all the time, wish me luck. It's worth a lot, and I'm very pleased. And I very much hope that by the time the national final, closer to January, everything will dissipate distrust of me.
EUROFEST.BY: Do you expect changes in the song, for example, improving the arrangements or anything else?
AIex: Yes, the first variant of the song was called "How To Fly". Now it will be "Help You Fly", because we have changed some of the words in the chorus and verse. Also, we changed the arrangement, it became a little heavier, but is perceived by the ear quite easily.
EUROFEST.BY: So, what is the name of the final version of the song?
AIex: The final version called "Help You Fly".
EUROFEST.BY: What it is the role of Victor Drobysh in the project? He acts only as a songwriter or plans to oversee the project?
AIex: Victor Drobysh is a producer in the project - he is the head and the undisputed leader, who is responsible for every detail, he is very meticulous in everything. As for my image and the staging, is the work of our entire team, creativity and the collective opinion of the management.
EUROFEST.BY: We know that you recently performed on tour on cities of Belarus. Which city you like more?
AIex: Yes, really, I performed together with singer Slava. Which city is the most like? In my opinion, for me it was warmer in Gomel. This is my hometown, where I grew up, I studied there, and my parents live there. And it was so comfortable in the shower when they came to me to the concert. When I gave my mother a bouquet of flowers on the stage, in the middle of the concert, she just burst into tears. And it was so warm and sincere, that were the most pleasant experience of Belarus not only for me, but also for my Russian friends who were with me. Incredibly friendly audience in Belarus, and it felt very much in the hall!
EUROFEST.BY: Let's go back to the selection for the "Eurovision". Who are the contestants who are not lucky enough to get to the final, you remember the most?
AIex: I remember Ian Zhenchak. He is, after all, and my good friend, and being familiar with him, we once played music. I can still be called "Pesnyary".
EUROFEST.BY: How do you assess the potential of your competitors in the finals?
AIex: There are some guys who are really professionals who know their job and what they are going to "Eurovision". There are teams that have just chosen its course, but already quite convincing. I think that the opponents of the finals all worthy.
EUROFEST.BY: Tell us briefly about the main terms of preparation for the finals of the Belarusian national selection. What is the main focus?
AIex: My producer first and foremost a musician, and if we talk about the basics - it's the music. But! Viewers need to view the show, dramatic effects, so we are now in active development of my image on stage. This will be individually stylish, with special effects. I can not reveal to you all the secrets, I promise it will be beautiful and original. It will be something bright and good, must bear a smile and positive emotions.
EUROFEST.BY: And the last question. What do you want to wish to your fans in the New Year?
AIex: In the New Year I wish all those who have a family - cherish it and save, who have no family - to find it. Happiness, love, and all the best!
EUROFEST.BY: Well, we wish you success in the national final!
